Artist Statement
What does an emotion look like? My creative self dwells in a space between thought, emotion, and sight. I consciously and consistently spend time exploring my emotional state meditating on its origins, its possible outcomes, and what it looks like.
Synethesia is a dear phenomenon to me that I cultivate and practice. I enjoy experiencing music in colors and visual patterns or witnessing my emotions wind their way through different shapes and color fields within my psyche. Each of my paintings is a product of this study. I strive to distill each unconscious musing into a distinct and expressive image.
My style is at once graphic and soft. The colorist within me likes to play with smooth gradations and illusory shading without breaking the graphic borders as they play throughout each painting.
